Exploring the connection between spirituality, religion, and ecology
The candidate will be welcomed by the National Centre of Excellence on Religion and Society (ReligiS: ), based at the University of Strasbourg. The centre’s primary aim is to promote a new scientific framework that is open, interdisciplinary, and international within the French academic context. It seeks to rethink the processes of transformation in the relationship between religion and society.The candidate will join the research axis (3.3) “Religion in the face of global change: health, gender, and the environment”, and a team made up of a PhD student, a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in eco‑spirituality in Francophone countries, and a professor studying the relationship between religion and ecology. The ReligiS structure offers many avenues for dissemination, including academic conferences and publications. Additionally, the University of Strasbourg belongs to the prestigious League of European Research Universities (LERU), an alliance of 24 top European research institutions. Furthermore, its geographical proximity to universities in neighbouring countries like Germany (Heidelberg and Freiburg) and Switzerland fosters collaborative relationships.
Who can apply?
Researchers of any nationality who:
- Have completed a PhD or will complete it by the date of the call deadline (September 2026).
- Have a maximum of 8 years full‑time equivalent experience in research at the time of the call deadline.
- Have not resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in France for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline.
Beware that applicants who have applied to the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship 2025 call and received an evaluation below 80% are not eligible for an application in 2026.
