Responsibilities

  • Ensure the role of Gas Engine Performance Lead: Act as the central point of contact for all topics related to gas engine performance within the company.
  • Define and steer performance requirements: Ensure the definition, understanding, and consistent application of efficiency, power density, emissions, and robustness criteria, from concept to series production.
  • Provide in‑depth expertise in gas combustion: Optimize mixture preparation, ignition systems, combustion chamber design, management of abnormal combustion phenomena (knock, misfire, etc.), and adaptation to different gas qualities.
  • Guide engine design decisions: Contribute to key technical choices (turbocharging, gas mixture, ignition systems, etc.) and define safe and robust operating windows.
  • Lead testing and calibration strategies: Define and challenge single‑cylinder, full‑engine, and field test strategies, and assess calibrations from a system‑performance perspective.
  • Ensure robustness in real‑world conditions: Verify that performance concepts remain reliable and relevant in field applications and customer environments.
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues: Support application and field teams in root‑cause analysis, troubleshooting, and definition of corrective actions; intervene as an escalation expert.
  • Conduct technological and competitive monitoring: Track technological developments, market trends, and innovations related to gas engine performance.
  • Capture and structure technical know‑how: Formalize best practices, guidelines, and design rules; propose new solutions and contribute to the department’s technical strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree +5 years of higher education or equivalent in mechanical engineering, engine technology, ideally within an industrial environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the field.
  • Strong knowledge of gas engines.
  • Experience in calibration and application of gas engines.
  • Clear communication and active listening.
  • Openness to change and innovative mindset.
  • Sense of responsibility and operational efficiency.
  • Rigor and professionalism.
  • B2 level English required.
