Expert(e) Contract Management – Construction F/H/NB - CDI
Location: Marne-la-Vallée, France. This CDI role is for a cadre autonome.
Department: Design & Delivery. Objective: pilot contract management for complex construction and rehabilitation projects, ensuring compliance, risk control, solid contractual positions and effective coordination among internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the full lifecycle of project contracts (preparation, execution, modifications, claims, closure, disputes) and contribute to the most suitable contractual strategy for the project.
- Translate operational issues into clear, secure contractual positions for project managers, ensuring alignment between on-site execution and contractual commitments.
- Identify, analyze and anticipate contractual risks; propose mitigation strategies and alert stakeholders when deviations occur, maintaining complete decision traceability.
- Assist in preparation and advisory during critical project phases (reviews, arbitrations, contract modifications, claims).
- Advise the project manager on bid process follow-up in connection with the construction purchaser; contribute to the structuring of analyses, coherence of selection criteria and negotiation meetings.
- Lead, coordinate and monitor mandated consulting firms on major operations and ensure their analyses align with the project strategy.
- Strengthen contractual quality of the work by coordinating external contributors (SPS coordinator, OPC, project management team, etc.).
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Legal and Risk Management to review, secure and ensure conformity of contractual deviations, while respecting internal procedures.
- Propose improvements to contractual documentation and best practices for project teams.
Qualifications
- Graduate with Bac+5 in Construction Law, engineering or project management with a contractual specialization.
- In-depth knowledge of private markets and contractual practices in construction (BTP).
- Experience of 10+ years in contract management within the French construction sector, on complex projects, as Project Owner or with major construction players.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Resilience under pressure and ability to manage complex situations.
- Analytical mindset and solution-oriented.
- Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, including project owners, OPC, control offices; ability to rally internal actors.
- Ability to negotiate and influence without drafting contracts.
- Languages: French (native or C1 minimum), English (B2 ideally).
