Experimental study of strengthening the fire performance of ventilated facade systems
The PhD project proposes to develop an innovative multi-scale method based on large-scale and laboratory-scale experiments supported by numerical modelling to:
- Better understand the fire behaviour of the new façade system, to propose fire safe constructions and to propose new security barriers to limit the fire propagation.
- Develop new intermediatescale experimental protocols of characterization permitting a large number of tests at reduced cost in order to support the French companies in their innovation and the development of new constructive solutions.
- Consider the new European test and regulation for the French industrials.

UNIVERSITE DE POITIERS
Diplomas: Master or Engineer in Science
Skills: It is hoped that the PhD student will possess strong skills in the scientific fields encountered during combustion processes and fires: heat and mass transfers, aeraulics, thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, etc. Skills in the field of combustion and fire safety are very useful, as well as those in material physics.
It is asked to know how to work independently and in a team, to have analytical skills and to be proactive. Finally, the ability to write and present in the English language is expected.
