Overview

Within YoungCapital, we are an IT department of around 60 developers that develop technological innovations in a data-driven and agile way. In our Research and Development team we work on a series of impressive and cool applications, including all 25 job websites that are part of YoungCapital and their databases, the YoungCapital app, our own ATS (Applicant Tracking System), machine learning algorithms, and many other projects. We are looking for an enthusiastic senior backend Ruby on Rails developer who wants to work at an organization that prioritizes growth. We are a hardworking, ambitious team and we are looking for the right developer who is willing to grow with us and share the same energy.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to backend development using Ruby on Rails within a multi-project environment.
• Collaborate with an IT team to design, implement, and maintain data-driven applications.
• Work with the current stack (Ruby on Rails, Git, ElasticSearch, Python, AWS, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Sidekiq with Redis, MySQL, Cordova, Vue, JavaScript, NodeJS) as part of ongoing development efforts.

Qualifications

• Baccalauréat required
• At least finished HBO or University level or equivalent by experience
• At least 4 years of experience using Ruby on Rails, in two different industries
• You dream in English; an extra European language would be great (Dutch is not mandatory)
• Knowledge of (My)SQL is absolutely necessary
• Experience using JavaScript (e.g., React), Scrum/Agile, ElasticSearch would be an advantage
• Willingness to engage in team challenges such as table football
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
