Offer Description

INSERM is recruiting a European Project Manager to support the coordination of the Horizon Europe project Lab2School4All – From Lab to School: Helping Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) .

The project is coordinated by Dr Caroline Huron (INSERM) and brings together nine partners from France, Italy, Spain, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Lab2School4All aims to improve the educational inclusion of children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) through the development of innovative artificial intelligence technologies that automatically adapt educational materials to their needs.

The successful candidate will support the scientific coordinator in the administrative, financial and operational management of the project and contribute to the strategic coordination of the international consortium.

Main responsibilities

  • Organise quarterly work package management meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Organise meetings of the Scientific and Ethics Advisory Board (SEAB) and provide administrative support for ethics‐related matters.
  • Monitor project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies, including adjustments to project scope and resource allocation.
  • Draft and update the Consortium Management and Governance Handbook.
  • Liaise with the funding authority’s Executive Agency on administrative and contractual matters, including financial issues, Grant Agreement amendments and project reporting.
  • Prepare agendas for governance bodies, draft meeting minutes and follow up on decisions.
  • Support the logistical organisation of consortium meetings and the project kick‑off meeting.
  • Assist project partners with administrative and financial matters related to the Grant Agreement.
  • Develop reporting templates, consolidate periodic contractual reports and ensure quality control.
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of the Data Management Plan (DMP) in accordance with Horizon Europe requirements and FAIR principles.
  • Work closely with the Communication and Dissemination Officer.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Horizon Europe regulations and procedures, including Grant Agreements, reporting requirements and amendments.
  • Financial management of European research projects, including cost eligibility, supporting documentation and lump‑sum funding schemes.
  • FAIR principles and research data management, including Data Management Plans (DMPs).
  • Project management and remote collaboration tools.
  • Open Science principles and practices.
  • Research ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (working language of the consortium).

Skills

  • Ability to coordinate a multi‑partner consortium in an international environment.
  • Ability to prepare progress reports and contractual deliverables in English.
  • Budget management and financial compliance with Horizon Europe rules.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and working groups, both in person and online.
  • Ability to develop and implement a Data Management Plan (DMP).
  • Ability to work independently with strong prioritisation and time‑management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Proactive approach, initiative and strong service orientation towards project partners.

Required experience

  • At least one experience in the management of European research projects (Horizon Europe and/or Horizon 2020), ideally within a coordinating institution or as part of a coordinating team.
  • Experience in the administrative and financial management of research projects.
  • Experience working in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Experience in research organisations or higher education institutions would be an asset.

Education and qualifications

  • Master's degree (or equivalent, 5 years of higher education) in Project Management, Research Administration, European Studies, European Law, International Management, or a related field.

The position is based at NeuroSpin (CEA Paris‑Saclay), one of Europe’s leading research centres in cognitive neuroscience.

The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment bringing together researchers in cognitive neuroscience, psychology, education, accessibility and artificial intelligence, in close collaboration with Le Cartable Fantastique , a French non‑profit organisation dedicated to inclusive education.

  • Working time: 50% FTE
  • Partial remote work possible (up to one day per week)
  • Full‑time equivalent salary: approximately €50,000 gross per year, depending on experience and INSERM salary scale
