Description

The Senior EU Field & Education Manager is responsible for building and leading REFY’s European field and education function from the ground up.

You will own brand presence, education delivery, freelance team management and Sephora retail relationships across our launch markets.

You will be responsible for the EU region as a whole for Sephora education/training. Year one focus is France and Italy freelance team; scaling into Germany and Iberia in year two.

This is a senior, hands‑on role for a strong operational leader with deep education credentials.

You will manage a freelance team of 5-10 across France and Italy at launch, growing as the business expands.

Expect to work closely with our Commercial team, People team, Brand, Education, Operations and Sephora EU leadership at country and store level.

You will own door‑level execution standards, gondola presentation, in‑store events and EU education moments hosted by REFY or Sephora.

You will be on the road extensively, with travel concentrated in our priority cities of Paris, Rome and Milan.

You should be as comfortable resolving an issue and driving a freelancer team, as well as presenting back to leadership.

This is a high impact role for someone with 7+ years’ experience in prestige beauty retail, education or field operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and build the EU freelance field team, supporting their short and long term development plans.
  • Drive freelance performance through clear KPIs, productivity thresholds and ongoing coaching, maintaining a minimum CSAT/NPS score of 4*.
  • Champion REFY values consistently and lead by example across all retail and field interactions.
  • Own EU Field team, key head office alignment with the broader strategy and ongoing reviews for EU field and education.

Field & Retail Execution

  • Act as the REFY brand representative across Sephora EU, owning the in‑store standard at every door.
  • Lead in‑store execution across launch and post‑launch phases, including new door openings end to end.
  • Own gondola presentation, tester placement and visual merchandising standards across all doors.
  • Conduct regular store visits to a defined cadence, prioritising our priority cities of Paris, Rome and Milan.
  • Manage in‑store stock and inventory accuracy, escalating issues quickly with Sephora and REFY operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Sephora store leadership, district teams and country education managers.
  • Ensure REFY shows up consistently and at brand standard at every door, every day.

Education & Training

  • Deliver high‑impact in‑person training across Sephora doors, regional sessions, masterclasses and Sephora train‑the‑trainer moments.
  • Adapt and localise REFY education content for EU markets, working with the global education team to ensure consistency and relevance.
  • Own REFY education events across Europe as the function scales, including REFY‑hosted moments and Sephora‑hosted events, travelling to wherever they are held.

Operations & Freelance Team Management

  • Build and lead the EU freelance field team, starting with 5-10 freelancers across France and Italy in year one, expanding into Germany and Iberia in year two.
  • Own freelance recruitment, onboarding, contracts, rotas and performance management across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage the freelance budget and track productivity against agreed thresholds, escalating where doors under‑perform.
  • Resolve operational, scheduling and HR issues across markets, partnering with the REFY People team on compliance and escalations.
  • Build scalable processes and tools as REFY grows from 18 to 35‑40+ doors across the EU.

Sales & Performance

  • Drive sell‑through through on‑floor coaching, selling support and dedicated selling days.
  • Take full ownership for performance recovery in under‑performing doors, with clear actions and timelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, sell‑through and door rankings versus non‑covered stores.
  • Use education and engagement as commercial levers, not standalone activities.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Own weekly and monthly sales, training coverage and store visit reporting, surfacing risks and opportunities early.
  • Be the voice of the EU market internally, feeding back on product performance, customer behaviour and market nuances to Commercial, Brand, PD and Education leadership.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of experience in prestige beauty retail, education or field roles, with multi‑market exposure.
  • Proven leadership experience building, managing and developing freelance or in‑store teams, ideally across multiple countries.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both French and English (essential), with additional languages such as Italian or Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Strong existing relationship with Sephora and ideally an established Sephora EU network.
  • Confident leading in‑person training and education across diverse audiences.
  • Highly organised, with strong process‑building instincts and the ability to bring structure to ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational, scheduling and HR matters across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with a focus on driving sell‑through and identifying performance opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of how education, retail standards and freelance management drive in‑store sales.
  • Experience supporting a brand launch or scaling into a new market is a strong bonus.
