Job Overview

A vacancy for an AVIONICS Certification Qualification Engineer has arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane. The role is part of the Airworthiness Office, contributing to the certification and qualification activities necessary to meet development and delivery milestones of helicopter programs.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate compliance of Airbus Helicopters products to applicable air‑worthiness requirements and ensure in‑service safety.
  • Lead initial air‑worthiness certification activities, including certification of products, further steps such as domain extension or new variant, and post‑TC design changes.
  • Obtain and maintain serial and prototype helicopters "Permit to Fly".
  • Manage foreign validation (initial and design change) and support deliveries and offers.
  • Plan, pilot, and manage avionics certification activities and reviews.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, manage internal priorities, and report on compliance demonstration progress.
  • Interface with the change board management process.
  • Contribute to helicopter‑level certification activities, consolidating compliance demonstration results and declaring compliance to support delivery.
  • Participate in Helionix certification steps for programs such as EC135, BK117, H160 or EC175.
  • Support UMBRELLA initial certification: review system plans, initiate discussions with EASA, frame System Engineering with EASA Panel 10, organize system reviews, prepare Permit to Fly, and close certification documentation.
  • Travel within Europe as required for business.

Qualifications

  • Five‑year engineering degree (or equivalent) in engineering or related discipline.
  • At least five years of overall engineering experience.
  • At least two years of experience in avionics certification, software (DO178‑B, DO254) and/or system engineering (ARP4754, DO297).
  • Project‑management experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of air‑worthiness is a plus.
  • Negotiation‑level proficiency in English.
