AVIONICS Certification Qualification Engineer – Marignane

The Marignane site, the 3rd largest industrial site in France near Marseille and Aix‑En‑Provence, is undergoing a deep transformation to offer a high‑tech, inclusive, and environmentally friendly working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate compliance of Airbus Helicopters products with applicable airworthiness requirements, ensuring in‑service safety.
  • Lead initial certification of our products, subsequent certification steps (domain extension, new variant, etc.), and post‑TC design changes.
  • Manage serial and prototype helicopters’ Permit to Fly and foreign validation.
  • Plan and pilot avionics certification activities and reviews, identify and mitigate risks, and manage internal priorities.
  • Track and report on the progress of compliance demonstration activities, resolve hard points, and ensure on‑time completion.
  • Interface with the change board management process and support deliveries and offers.
  • Contribute to certification logic definition, certification program development, and validation of design office compliance demonstrations.
  • Contribute to helicopter‑level certification activities, consolidating compliance demonstration results to support delivery.
  • Participate in Helionix certification steps for programs such as EC135, BK117, H160, or EC175 as required.
  • Contribute to UMBRELLA initial certification, review the main system plan, initiate discussions with EASA, prepare certification plans, and frame System Engineering with EASA Panel 10.
  • Organise system reviews and technical familiarisations, prepare the Permit to Fly, and review/close certification documents.
  • Travel for business within Europe as required.

Qualifications

  • Educated to a 5‑year degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of overall engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in avionics certification and/or in software (DO178‑B, DO254) and/or system engineering (ARP4754, DO297).
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness is a plus.
  • Negotiation‑level proficiency in English.
