Role Summary

Reporting to the Global Head of Sustainable Investment Research, the ESG Research Analyst will work within the Sustainable Finance & Investment (SFI) Research Team in the Data & Analytics division of LSEG.

What You'll Be Doing

The ESG Research Analyst will develop and improve corporate ESG scoring models and assessment tools, and co-author high‑profile thematic publications on ESG and sustainability.

What You'll Bring

Candidates should bring a passion for sustainability, ESG analysis, and experience or strong curiosity in research within an investment context. Strong communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients and collaborators, are highly valued.

Key Expectations of the Role

• Ideally, bring 2+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative ESG research; experience in an investment context is preferred but not required.
• Ability to effectively engage collaborators with varying demands – both internal (e.g., operations and technology teams) and external (e.g., clients, standard setters, and regulators).
• Strong analytical skills are crucial; proficiency in Python or similar tools is highly desirable, and experience with LLMs an asset.
• A proven track record of producing impactful publications and strong analytical writing and presentation skills is an asset.
• Experience in developing ESG‑related analytics products and frameworks is a plus.
• Being comfortable with change in a fast‑moving environment with competing demands, and working collaboratively as a great team player.
