ESG performance manager (H/F)

Mission
The ESG performance manager, directly reporting to the Sustainability reporting/ sustainable Finance Director, plays a significant role in managing CSR activities for the group through annual reporting processes, in compliance with extra‑financial regulations and coordinating with risks management. He/She contributes to Sustainability and ESG action plan and external positioning of Alstom, as well as to sustainability/CSR/ESG training road map and Alstom Excellence Award Program.
Main Responsibilities
- As ESG Sustainable Performance Manager, you will play a key role in driving Alstom’s sustainability & CSR agenda and ensuring compliance with European and international ESG requirements.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of sustainability reporting, including:
- the CSRD sustainability statement
- Double Materiality Assessment (DMA)
- EU Taxonomy disclosures, in close collaboration with Finance team and operational teams (EHS, E&C, Sustainable procurement…)
- Defining reporting roadmap with key stakeholders, animating contributors network (kick‑off, follow‑up, reviews…)
- Manage relationship, planning and deliverables with auditors, ensuring consistency, robustness and timely delivery of ESG data, included in URD global timeframe.
- Watch & monitor evolving regulatory and policy developments related to sustainability and ESG (EU legislation, standards, best practices), identify gaps & impacts, push necessary actions to meet new obligations and contribute to the preparation of positions and analyses in coordination with the Public Affairs department. Participate in dedicated forums and association meetings (AFEP, MENEF, UNIFE…)
- Support ESG rating activities in accordance with data in URD/CSRD.
- Participate in risk mapping update and formalisation of the process.
- Prepare benchmark to understand Alstom positioning (based on critical results analysis) and strengthen Alstom ESG roadmap and leverage data to create valuable impact.
- Contribute to strengthen the formalisation of our processes (elaboration of extra‑financial reporting manual, methodology and procedure), to automatise and digitalise our reporting and internal ways of working, through technological tools (AI…), in order to increase efficiency.
- Support internal and external communication based on sustainability statements.
- Play a strong animation role by:
- Structuring and driving the Group Sustainability & CSR training roadmap, contributing to ESG awareness, skills development and cultural change across Alstom. Contribute to e‑learning module creation. Prepare a comprehensive communication package to increase visibility of training modules and reach the widest audience across the organisation to ensure strong engagement (follow‑up KPI).
- Participate and energise a global Sustainability & CSR network across the organisation, fostering engagement, consistency and best‑practice sharing (preparation of on‑boarding sessions).
- Contribute to Alstom Excellence Award, recognising best practices on group key priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree required. Academic background in CSR, Environment or Finance (business school, engineering school or university).
- More than 5 years of experience in program management, transformation project, sustainability management, environmental sciences, public affairs.
- Analytical mindset combined with strong written and verbal communication skills, in English and ideally French and other languages a plus.
- Expertise in data management, reporting structure and systems. Rigorously organized.
- Ability to analyse, prioritise and synthesise large volumes of information.
- Strong project management and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
- Respect for deadlines and commitments.
- Good understanding of European legislation: strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and regulations, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy and audit processes.
- Autonomy and agility: abilities to engage, influence and motivate networks across diverse cultures and geographies.
- Proactive and collaborative approach, with a strong sense of purpose and impact.
