Overview
The Environmental Services Training Coordinator oversees the departmental training program, including new-hire orientation, annual training, training documentation, and development of training modules. This role collaborates with Supervisors, team leaders, and staff across all shifts and campuses to ensure consistency in the training program.
Responsibilities
- Create and refine training material; develop competencies; research and implement new training innovations.
- Ensure training material aligns with policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); assist in revising policies and procedures.
- Manage training for all new hires; conduct ongoing training and spend adequate time with each new hire to support their development; document all training and confirm understanding of policies and procedures.
- Acclimate new hires to buildings and campuses; provide hands-on training as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's Degree required; in lieu of an Associate's Degree, review minimum experience requirements (see experience below).
- Experience: Two (2)+ years of teaching and/or training experience; experience in creating training programs and conducting new-hire orientations; three (3) years of customer service experience (may be included with the above); or a High School Diploma/GED with additional related EVS work experience to total four years in lieu of an Associate's Degree.
- Minimum Skills: Public speaking and group presentation skills; ability to present material, answer questions, and engage participants; proficiency with PowerPoint.
- Experience: Three (3) years of environmental services and/or housekeeping experience in a hospital setting.
