Role Description
The Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist is a full-time hybrid role based in Paris, with a combination of on-site work at project or office locations and some work-from-home flexibility. The specialist is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs in alignment with company policies and local regulations. Daily activities include conducting workplace inspections, identifying hazards, performing risk assessments, and recommending corrective actions. The role involves delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to employees and contractors, as well as maintaining accurate EHS documentation, incident reports, and compliance records. The EHS Specialist collaborates with operations, HR, and management to investigate incidents, track corrective actions, support audits, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all activities.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), Health & Safety, and Occupational Health, with the ability to develop and implement effective EHS policies and procedures.
- Hands‑on experience in Workplace Safety, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation in industrial or construction environments.
- Proficiency in Safety Training, including designing and delivering training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety inductions for diverse teams.
- Knowledge of relevant EHS laws, standards, and regulations, and the ability to ensure compliance in day‑to‑day operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence safe behaviors and build strong relationships with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to track EHS metrics, prepare reports, and use data to drive improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field; relevant EHS certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are an advantage.
- Experience in manufacturing, wood products, or construction sectors is preferred, with readiness to work on‑site when required in a hybrid arrangement.
