Environmental Health Safety Coordinator (Lafayette) in , us
LHH is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Training Coordinator for a Direct Hire, permanent position with a manufacturing client in the greater Lafayette, Indiana area. The position will support preparing, facilitating, monitoring, evaluating, and documenting EHS training activities across the organization. This role plays a key part in ensuring employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to meet safety, health, and environmental standards.
Location: Onsite – Lafayette, IN area
Compensation: $69,000–$73,000 annually (may be negotiable based on experience)
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with EHS leadership to identify training needs for both new hires and existing employees
- Collaborate with safety leadership to source internal and external training solutions that close skill or compliance gaps
- Reinforce understanding and consistent application of environmental, health, and safety policies across the organization
- Design and deliver engaging training content, including presentations, reference guides, assessments, and work instructions
- Coordinate, organize, and maintain training resources, safety materials, and instructional equipment
- Communicate available training programs to employees and oversee individual training plans and completion
- Deliver training through multiple formats, including in-person sessions, virtual instruction, and hands‑on coaching
- Measure training effectiveness using assessments and feedback tools
- Monitor participation and outcomes, sharing results and insights with leadership and trainees
- Stay informed on evolving training approaches, learning technologies, and instructional best practices
- Review and recommend updates to training programs, tools, and methodologies
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation of employee training records
- Provide training support across multiple shifts, adjusting schedules as needed to meet operational demands
- Take on additional responsibilities in support of EHS objectives as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- At least two years of experience supporting EHS compliance, regulatory activities, and program development
- Solid working knowledge of safety and environmental regulations, risk analysis, and hazard mitigation practices
- A proactive, self‑driven professional with strong facilitation and presentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to influence others and promote engagement with EHS objectives and performance goals
- Proficiency with standard business software, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy and organization
- Comfort navigating a variety of technologies and learning systems
- Ability to meet the physical demands of a hands‑on work environment, including extended periods of standing and walking
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
