Engineering of Plasmonic Hybrid Electrodes Passivated and Densified by IBAD for Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

Research will focus on replacing indium tin oxide (ITO) in flexible optoelectronics with silver nanowire (AgNW) networks through protective multilayer configurations and surface functionalizations to reduce resistance and roughness while improving optical transmittance. The project aims to combine IBAD deposition of dense oxides with nanowire passivation and hot electron transfer control in a single flexible OLED architecture.
- Control the microstructure and energy level alignment of oxides deposited at low temperatures on the XLIM PLATINOM platform using IBAD-driven densification.
- Achieve passivation via grafting nitrogen‑containing molecules combined with dense oxide deposition to quench surface defects and tune the work function.
- Map band alignment in ambient air using PYSA to correlate IBAD deposition parameters and organic grafting with effective work function.
Candidate Requirements:
- Research Master’s degree (Master 2) in Materials Physics, Nanotechnology, Optoelectronics, or Organic Electronics.
- Interdisciplinary profile at the interface of solid‑state physics, materials science, and nanotechnology.
- Strong interest in laboratory work and physical vapor deposition (PVD) techniques.
- Solid knowledge in semiconductor physics, ideally plasmonics, and surface characterization techniques such as AFM, SEM, ellipsometry, and absorption or emission spectroscopy.
- Rigorous, autonomous, self‑motivated with excellent teamwork and communication skills for drafting scientific papers and presenting work in English.
