Engineering Manager - Microsoft environment - Paris

As an Engineering Manager for our Documents squad in Paris, you will lead a small and very collaborative team of 4 people. In this role, you will act as a technical manager, balancing architecture design, critical technical choices, and hands‑on implementation. Your mission is to drive engineering excellence. You will also focus on supporting the development of engineers within the squad while expanding your own management capabilities.

• Drive Technical Architecture: Design robust software architectures and make critical technical choices for the squad.
• Implement Solutions: Write code to solve complex technical challenges alongside your small team.
• Mentor and Develop: Mentor software engineers within your squad, fostering a culture of learning and continuous growth.
• Simplify Designs: Simplify complex technical structures to improve the maintainability, usability, and reliability of our framework.
• Collaborate Cross‑Functionally: Partner closely with product management and other teams to align technical strategies with business objectives.
• Deliver Outcomes: Take ownership of planning and delivering complex technical products, ensuring high‑quality results.

Qualifications

• Code‑Savvy in C#: Extensive hands‑on experience in software development, including significant expertise in C# (or Java expertise willing to evolve).
• Experienced Lead: At least 1 prior experience mentoring or managing small teams as a Team Lead or Manager.
• Growth‑Minded: Strong willingness to test and learn, adaptability, and an appetite for change.
• Architectural Thinker: Skilled at providing technical direction, evaluating trade‑offs, and making sound technical decisions.
• Bilingual: Fluent English speaker with command of French a strong asset for our Paris office.
• Collaborative: Strong cross‑functional skills to partner effectively with stakeholders across product and engineering teams.
