Engineering Manager - Marketplace

Why we need you?

Our growth is driving us to strengthen our Marketplace team to build a brand‑new product from the ground up, managing the creation and distribution of core artifacts like OS images and container images. Your mission will be to lead and develop the software components and architecture for our Marketplace platform in order to deliver a scalable, diverse, and high‑performance product offering to all Scaleway users.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the Marketplace platform architecture from scratch
• Implement backend services primarily using Go and SQL
• Create and manage the lifecycle of artifacts, including OS and container images
• Develop and maintain robust APIs to power Marketplace features
• Architect distributed systems focused on high scalability and microservices
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Core Engineering and Product teams
• Participate in the definition of technical specifications and product roadmaps
• Ensure code quality through rigorous testing and documentation
• Recruit, mentor, and lead future members of the Marketplace engineering team
• Balance hands‑on development with strategic engineering management

Qualifications

Hard skills

• Strong proficiency in Go and experience with Python
• Solid experience in SQL and database management
• Expertise in Linux system administration and internals
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Proven track record in building APIs and Distributed Architectures
• Deep understanding of Microservices and Scalability
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows
• Experience in creating and managing artifacts (OS images, containers)
