Role Overview

Java Engineering Manager – responsible for the design, build, adoption and success of Mirakl Connect’s product.

Responsibilities

Team Management (Bordeaux, Paris, remote in France)

• Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 developers
• Conduct one‑on‑one meetings, mid‑year and year‑end reviews
• Track career and training needs
• Maintain team cohesion, motivation and smooth operation
• Take ownership of certain stories
• Conduct code reviews
• Design, develop, test and push to production

Technical & Functional Project Coordination

• Develop roadmaps with R&D members
• Coordinate priorities and projects with other leads
• Be point of contact with product and design teams for user story management
• Ensure commitments in velocity and quality
• Resolve blockers and arbitrate on projects

Coaching & Team Development

• Upskill each team member
• Successful onboarding of new developers
• Identify and develop talent
• Contribute to recruitment inside and outside the team
• Establish best practices in clean code, testing, releases, and pair programming

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience mentoring a team and 5 years of Java development in recent versions
• Manager with strong listening and communication skills
• Balances close management with autonomy for teams
• Strong technical proficiency in Java, Spring, SQL, cloud, microservices
• Hands‑on coding and technical contribution to projects
• Professional English proficiency C1

Based at either our Paris or Bordeaux office, with one day of remote per week.
