Engineer R&D 2 STROKE EXPERT

Description

You have a theoretical experience of the 2‑stroke marine engine (sailor profile not mandatory) + Master Engineer diploma.

Responsibilities

• Source and explore any solutions allowing propulsion engine efficiency improvement, specific fuel consumption reduction, and GHG emissions reduction.
• Study engine optimization solutions.
• Maintain close links with the engine designers R&D department.
• Maintain close links with the Engine designers Retrofit and Upgrade department.
• Analyze performance of engines in service.
• Propose solutions to Ships Retrofit & Upgrade department / Technical Department.
• Provide support to the Newbuilding department for engine and associated component selection for Newbuilding projects.
• Provide support to Newbuilding for design and installation of engine & engine ancillaries system.
• Provide support to Newbuilding for engine commissioning and testing.
• Follow up Newbuilding project performances.
• Follow up retrofit solution performances.

Qualifications

• Master degree in mechanical engineering / Combustion Engine specialist.
• Experience in 2‑stroke engine performance analysis / 2‑stroke engine tuning.
• Compulsory knowledge of 2‑stroke engine automation and control system.
• Knowledge of propulsion system performances.
• Good to have knowledge of engine simulation software.
• Experience in the assembly, commissioning and test procedures of 2‑stroke engines.
• Fluent in English.
• Proficiency with office software and engineering software.
• Experience with engine design software and applications such as Cocos EDS, WiDE, DCM, GTD, CEAS, PMI, etc.
• Previous experience in 2‑stroke marine engine development within a recognized engine designer organization.
• Alternative experience in a 2‑stroke marine engine turbocharger manufacturer or performance department.
• Experience in 2‑stroke engine installation, commissioning and testing within an engine manufacturer or from the owner side.
• Strong international experience and multicultural background.
• Perfect knowledge of the shipping industry.
