Energy Operations Engineer — AI & Data Automation
Overview
We are a fast-growing SaaS company in the renewable energy sector, building software used by producers, aggregators, and market participants to manage complex operational workflows in the European power market.
Role
We are looking for a high‑potential junior engineer to join our Operations team and help us automate, improve, and scale the way energy operations are run. This role is designed for someone who wants to understand, in depth, how European energy markets work in practice, while building concrete AI, data, and automation tools used every day by operational teams. It sits at the intersection of energy markets, data, AI, APIs, customer operations, and fast execution .
Responsibilities
- Automating customer onboarding workflows.
- Building AI‑powered tools to triage, resolve, or route customer requests.
- Analyzing metering and operational data flows to detect missing data, inconsistencies, and anomalies.
- Connecting to external APIs, metering platforms, market data sources, and customer systems.
- Cleaning, transforming, and reconciling messy datasets.
- Extracting structured information from contracts, documents, emails, tickets, and operational exchanges.
- Building internal tools, scripts, dashboards, and AI assistants for the Operations team.
- Turning recurring operational issues into scalable processes or product ideas.
You will often start from incomplete or ambiguous information, coming from both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Your role will be to ask the right questions, structure the problem, and turn unclear operational needs into simple, useful tools. We expect speed, clarity, ownership, and pragmatism: build a first useful MVP quickly, test it with users, and iterate.
Qualifications
- A top engineering school background, or an equivalent highly selective technical or quantitative program.
- 0–2 years of experience, including internships, apprenticeships, startup experience, or strong personal projects.
- Strong foundations in Python.
- Comfort working with APIs, data transformation, automation, and modern AI coding tools.
- A strong interest in energy, electricity markets, renewable energy, operations, and real‑world business systems.
- The ability to quickly understand complex topics and turn them into clear workflows.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with messy or incomplete data.
- A pragmatic builder mindset: you know how to ship a useful MVP before designing the perfect system.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in French and English.
You will love this role if you want to understand how European energy markets actually work, enjoy touching many different topics, and like building tools that have an immediate impact on real operations. This role may not be for you if you want a pure software engineering position with perfectly defined tickets, or if you are not interested in understanding the business behind the code.
