Energy & BESS Business Manager

Founded in 2003, Prosolia Energy is a leading business group in the renewable energy sector, operating through its subsidiaries in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and Germany.

Prosolia Energy is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) specialising in providing decarbonisation services to its clients. We manage the entire value chain of the projects through which we supply energy to our customers, including the development, construction, operation and maintenance of a wide range of renewable energy generation and storage solutions.

We are looking for a Energy & BESS Business Manager to drive the growth of our energy storage and BESS project portfolio. This role will be key to implementing our BESS strategy, owning how our storage and hybrid assets create and capture value — from revenue strategy and route-to-market through to the business cases that turn our pipeline into investment decisions.

Location: Based in Paris or Toulouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define the revenue strategy for BESS and hybrid assets — arbitrage, capacity mechanism, ancillary/reserve services, self-consumption optimisation — across both C&I/distributed and utility-scale segments.
• Lead the commercial relationship with aggregators, optimisers and route-to-market partners: benchmark, select, negotiate and monitor their performance against our assets.
• Design and maintain financial analysis tools for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) projects, in coordination with the Commercial team.
• Assess the economic feasibility of new energy storage opportunities.
• Conduct market research to identify and benchmark technology providers and specialised energy storage consultants.
• Integrate technical and financial models into investment assessments, including revenue, operating cost and return simulations, with particular emphasis on modelling BESS flexibility revenues.
• Coordinate the search, appointment and supervision of external Technical Advisors for the preparation of bankable models.
• Support the portfolio expansion strategy by assessing opportunities for the acquisition or co-development of BESS assets.
• Participate in technical, regulatory and financial due diligence processes.
• Track the French power-market and regulatory environment (EPEX, capacity, reserves, S3REnR, connection rules) and translate it into revenue assumptions.
• Work closely with the Engineering, Sales and Finance teams to ensure the overall feasibility of projects

REQUIREMENTS

• Between 6 and 8 years of professional experience in a similar position, gained within an IPP, utility, energy-trading/optimisation firm, aggregator, infrastructure fund or strategy consulting with an energy focus.
• In-depth knowledge of the energy sector, particularly battery energy storage systems (BESS) and the French power markets — how a storage asset actually earns money, not only how it is engineered.
• Strong command of financial and economic modelling tools.
• Experience in the structuring and techno-economic analysis of energy projects.
• Comfortable dialoguing with aggregators, optimisers and offtakers; genuine business-development orientation.
• Excellent analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
• High level of written and spoken English and French. Additional languages will be considered an advantage.
• Strong business development orientation and ability to support commercial growth initiatives.
• Previous experience or a technical background in BESS projects would be considered an advantage, although it is not essential.
