Energy Analyst (Audubon) in , us

Our client is a regional transmission organization that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity. We are looking for someone to join our team as a Market Settlements Analyst. This is a hybrid one‑year contract that takes place in Audubon, Pennsylvania.

Skills and Experience

• BS or equivalent work experience in Business, Mathematics, Data Science or Computer Science
• 3+ years of relevant experience in Market Settlement Operations
• 1-5+ years of experience in power markets or functions related to electric or distribution
• Ability to produce high‑quality work products with attention to detail
• Must produce highly accurate and audit‑ready deliverables
• Ability to apply critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems
• Ability to succinctly convey complex information to others in written and verbal form
• Ability to break a process down into sub‑routines and clearly document the associated tasks
• Ability to effectively prioritize work amongst competing demands
• Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
• Ability to perform basic quantitative and qualitative data analysis
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS‑Word, MS‑Excel, MS‑PowerPoint)
• Excel proficiency required and utilized daily
• Demonstrated self‑starter with a curiosity to understand the big picture behind assigned tasks

Responsibilities

• Settlement Processing: The Analyst will learn and utilize in‑house developed software tools and Microsoft Office products to assist in the efficient and effective completion of settlement tasks, ultimately ensuring the timely and accurate publishing of billing statements.
• Data Review and Validation: The Analyst will examine various forms of data—load, tie‑meter, resource commitment logs, transmission revenue requirements, and other data submitted by market participants—for accuracy and completeness, resolving data issues prior to use in settlement and billing calculations.
• Documentation and Standards: The Analyst will document and maintain specifications (process guides, job aids, etc.) for essential functions within the department and may assist in developing business‑requirements documentation to automate or streamline departmental processes.
• SOC 1 Audit Support: The Analyst will perform tasks required to comply with SOC 1 control objectives, maintaining documentation, logging issues, assisting in issue resolution, and conducting periodic reviews with audit staff.
• Questioning and Problem Solving: The Analyst will apply critical thinking skills to identify data and process issues, investigate root causes, and suggest resolutions.
