EMEA Commercial Banking Sales Specialist
Overview
As part of MSCI's EMEA Analytics team, the EMEA Banking Sales Specialist is responsible for growing our commercial banking business across Europe. You'll work with Tier 2 and Tier 3 banks, helping clients understand how MSCI's Analytics solutions support risk management, regulatory reporting and investment decision-making. This is a commercial role focused on developing new business, strengthening long-term client relationships and expanding MSCI's Analytics footprint across the commercial banking sector. Success in this role comes from listening to clients, understanding their priorities and connecting them with the right expertise across MSCI. You'll work closely with Generalist Sales, Client Consultants, Product Management and Marketing to deliver integrated client solutions and identify new growth opportunities. Responsibilities
- Generate new business by identifying, qualifying and advancing commercial opportunities across market risk, counterparty risk and regulatory reporting solutions.
- Own the sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation and closing while maintaining a healthy pipeline and accurate forecasting.
- Build trusted client relationships with risk managers, treasury teams, regulators and senior stakeholders across commercial banks.
- Lead consultative client engagements by understanding client priorities, demonstrating MSCI's Analytics capabilities and positioning integrated solutions.
- Collaborate across MSCI with Generalist Sales, Client Consultants, Product Specialists and Marketing to deliver an exceptional client experience.
- Represent MSCI at industry events and client meetings while bringing market insights and client feedback back into the business.
- Maintain operational excellence through disciplined CRM management, account planning and pipeline reporting.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience selling solutions to commercial banks or working within the commercial banking sector.
- Strong understanding of market risk, counterparty risk and regulatory reporting.
- Demonstrated success in generating new business and growing strategic client relationships.
- Strong consultative selling, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to explain complex analytical concepts clearly to both technical and commercial audiences.
- Understanding of banking risk analytics, including Value at Risk (VaR), stress testing, exposure metrics, counterparty risk and regulatory frameworks such as FRTB, SA-CCR and BCBS.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms; familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT is an advantage.
- Additional European languages would be beneficial for supporting clients across the EMEA region.
