Embedded Software Engineer - Architecture & CI/CD

Embedded Software Engineer - Architecture & CI/CD

An embedded software engineer with this title is usually expected to design firmware architecture for hardware close to sensors and motors, and to own the build and release pipeline that turns that code into reliable software. A strong candidate brings solid C or C++ for microcontrollers, comfort with real time constraints, and hands on work with automated builds, testing and deployment. For an airship maker, that means code that must be dependable in flight and easy for a small team to change safely.

How it fits the AI era

AI tools now draft code, generate tests and flag likely bugs, so the engineer spends less time on boilerplate and more on architecture, review and judgment about what is safe to ship. Automated pipelines become more valuable because AI assisted changes arrive faster and need consistent checks. The human core stays in system design, debugging hardware interactions and deciding when software is trustworthy enough to fly.

How it builds AI experience

This role builds AI experience through CI/CD work that can include automated test generation, log analysis and anomaly detection on embedded data. A candidate can prepare by using AI coding assistants on firmware projects and by learning to validate their output with tests and reviews. Experience with data from sensors and flight systems is a natural path toward AI assisted monitoring and diagnostics.
