Embedded Computer Vision designer for Navigation and Surveillance
Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a an Embedded Computer Vision designer for Navigation and Surveillance (f/m) to join our "Future Communication, Navigation, Surveillance Architecture and Technology Bricks" department based in Toulouse, France.
You will be part of the team designing the navigation and surveillance system architecture for our next generation aircraft. As an actor of the Embedded Artificial Intelligence team you will be responsible for the definition, design, and integration of new navigation and surveillance computer vision functions integrating Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning technologies.

Your challenges:
The main tasks & responsibilities of this position are:
Define top-level objectives and requirements of new or improved vision-based functions derived from the navigation & surveillance strategy
Develop, validate, and integrate the bricks supporting these functions
Contribute to safety, Verification & Validation, and certification-related activities
Ensure the deployment of these functions on in-service and future Airbus aircraft
Collaborate in a multi-functional team with relevant stakeholders (Airbus internal centers & functions, external academics, industrial partners, subcontractors) to ensure the delivery of the projects
Be accountable for project delivery on time, cost, quality, and performance targets
Promote and develop innovations, developments, and Validation & Verification relative to computer vision systems
Your boarding pass:
Educated to a Master's Degree in Aeronautical, Electronics, Signal Processing, Data Science engineering (or equivalent)
Strong background in embedded computer vision technologies, image processing, deep learning architectures for real-time / high-integrity level systems
Good experience in vision sensors (camera EO/IR, radar, lidar …)
Good experience with implementation of multi-sensor data fusion and state estimation/motion control algorithms
Experience programming Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, or Python
Knowledge of navigation and surveillance systems sensors (GNSS, RA, ILS, Inertial)
Language Skills: advanced level of English and minimum intermediate level of French preferred
Curiosity and appetite for complex function and system development
Ability to learn continuously, autonomy, a sense of prioritization, and ability to take a step back and see the bigger picture
Ability to work with proactive, flexible collaboration as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team
Communication, persuasion & influencing skills, decision-making ability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
A willingness to learn and openness to change, new methodologies & technologies
