Electrical Engineer – Space and Defence FSO Systems

We build communication terminals and optical payloads for space and defence. Our small, senior engineering team owns disciplines across the portfolio, where every deliverable has a single named owner.

The Role

You will design the boards our products run on, spanning high-speed communication chains and drive/readout electronics for precision mechanisms. You will handle the full lifecycle: architecture, schematics, layout definition, bench bring-up, and debug.

Key Responsibilities

• Board Design: End-to-end architecture, schematics, layout supervision, bench bring-up, and system characterisation.
• Analogue & Drivers: High-voltage/motor actuator drive chains, low-noise amplification, and detector front-ends.
• Digital & Telecom: Fast serial interfaces, optical modules, clock distribution, and microcontrollers/FPGAs/DSPs.
• Power & EMC: DC-DC converters, power distribution, grounding/zoning, and EMC pre-compliance.
• Space & Manufacturing: Component selection under radiation/derating constraints, harness definition, and PCB supplier follow-up.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent grounding.
• Hardware Experience: Must have designed at least one board from schematic to working hardware and can explain its operation and debugging in depth.
• Tools & Testing: PCB toolchain (Altium, Cadence, KiCad) and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
• Languages: Professional English (French is a plus).
