Electrical Thermal Incident (ETI) Project Manager
Mission
As an Electrical Thermal Incident (ETI) Project Manager , you will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering ETI assessments for new vehicle programs, new body styles ("top hats"), new powertrains, mid-cycle actions (MCA), and series production modifications. You will ensure compliance with the standard ETI process and support project teams in meeting all technical requirements and program milestones.
ETI assessments focus on identifying and mitigating thermal incident risks associated with electrical and electronic components, wiring harnesses, and their integration within the vehicle.
This position requires occasional short‑term travel within Europe.
Responsibilities
Design Phase
- Ensure ETI validation of electrical and electronic components in collaboration with dedicated technical experts.
- Participate in digital analyses of electrical harness routing to ensure best practices are applied and ETI risks are eliminated, working closely with Packaging, CCP, and Wiring Harness Development Engineers (DRE).
- Escalate critical issues to ensure alignment with project objectives and requirements.
- Prepare and publish ETI assessment reports at each development process milestone.
- Perform physical ETI inspections at manufacturing sites to confirm digital analyses through Gemba Walks.
- Contribute to safety assessments related to deviations or anomalies identified during industrialization.
- Escalate blocking issues to ensure project expectations are met.
- Prepare and publish ETI assessment reports at each process milestone.
Series Production
- Support PQE (Plant Quality Engineering) and RQDV – Routings Quality Design & Validation teams in appropriately assessing risks associated with issues identified during series production.
- Participate in recurring Gemba Walks at assigned manufacturing sites.
Cross-Functional Activities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of ETI assessment processes and design standards by sharing lessons learned.
- Support field ETI analyses and laboratory investigations related to ETI events and risk assessments.
Profile
Education
- University degree or Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automotive Engineering , or a related field.

- Understanding of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) systems.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing and industrialization processes.
Training
- A dedicated ETI training program will be provided to develop the specific technical expertise required for Electrical Thermal Incident assessments.
