Electrical Project Engineer - (Fives Intralogistics Corp.) M/F

Responsibilities

  • Competently understand and work under the guidelines, policies, procedures, and instructions of the Quality System to achieve quality and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Maintain a good, professional working relationship with all company personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Work in a fast‑paced, project‑oriented, deadline‑driven, and continuously‑improving environment to meet company goals concerning schedule, technical accuracy, and budget.
  • Use engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Willingness to work in both individual and group environments.
  • Willingness to immediately travel as required by air or automotive.
  • Willingness to travel to and work at remote locations throughout the year, with an average yearly travel requirement of 30%.
  • Maintain technical expertise in controls systems hardware and software technology through training and continuing education.
  • Prepare scope of work and technical specification documents during project proposal and execution phases.
  • Assist in preparing electrical project estimates.
  • Review and verify system designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Assist in selecting, negotiating, and managing electrical subcontracts.
  • Coordinate with engineering subcontractors to ensure the subcontractor work is checked and standards and quality align with Fives Intralogistics guidelines.
  • Review and select appropriate Fives and OEM equipment to satisfy project functional requirements.
  • Ensure all project tasks, milestones, schedules, and budgets are defined, communicated, accurately reported, and met.
  • Design electrical control system equipment, components, products, and systems for control of automated and conventional sortation and conveying systems.
  • Review and approve component and/or equipment design changes and drawing releases.
  • Develop activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to customer requirements, functional specifications, and national and local codes.
  • Maintain optimum use of time and resources through a hands‑on approach and/or effectively assigning project personnel to specific phases or aspects of projects.
  • Support the annual performance review process of other electrical engineering resources as required.
  • Provide technical leadership to supply chain, production, and field installation personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (four‑year college or university) with three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven technical leadership for medium to large scale construction or engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in MS Project or equivalent project‑management software.
  • Understanding and proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Understanding and proficiency in PLC ladder and structured text programming, GDU, and HMI programming.
  • Understanding and proficiency in control system hardware design.
  • Experience in directing and following tasks within engineering projects.
