Electrical Construction Engineer F/H
Join an international group, a leader in low‑carbon growth and committed to tackling climate change.
NUWARD, an EDF subsidiary, is dedicated to developing the Group’s small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). NUWARD is designing a multi‑energy platform capable of delivering low‑carbon, competitive electricity and heat to meet the needs of industry and cities.
Our SMR, known as the “NUWARD_SMR”, features a simple, modular, and prefabricated design, drawing on the proven technologies and expertise of the existing nuclear fleet.
Our ambition: to deliver Europe’s first SMR during the 2030s. Do you want to help build a safe, low‑carbon, and competitive energy future for Europe? Join us on this journey!

Job based in Lyon with frequent trips to other NUWARD sites (Paris & Tours) and partner engineering firms.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Head of Construction, Modularity & Constructability, and define Electrical construction and commissioning methods and sequences to fit within the overall MEH (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC) sequence, ensuring the competitiveness of NUWARD SMR in terms of construction and commissioning schedules.
- Take charge of the identification, assessment and preparation of NUWARD target sites, from multi‑criteria screening to early investigations, regulatory mapping and tender support.
- Contribute to the MEH constructability strategy and ensure its consistent application across all work packages.
- Define and optimize Electrical construction sequences with each MEH work package and integrate them into the overall schedule.
- Ensure consistent consideration of constructability and methods (Advanced Work Packaging, IKEA method, constructability reviews, 4‑D modelling).
- Align the MEH construction sequence with the commissioning sequence.
- Develop facility‑ or island‑level plans that integrate, coordinate, and sequence Electrical and MEH activities to achieve the optimal construction sequence (efficient and safe, taking into account feedback from European contractors).
- Plan construction and installation sequences, installation routes, handling of equipment and materials, temporary facilities (scaffolding, temporary easements, etc.) and work, storage and staging areas.
- Integrate conventional and nuclear safety considerations into the planning processes.
