We are currently offering a $2,000 sign‑on bonus for EPG Rental Technician new hires. $1,000 is payable after 90 days of employment, and the remaining $1,000 is payable after 180 days of employment.

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring an Electric Power (EPG) Rental Technician in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Job Overview

The EPG Rental Technician is responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing EPG rental equipment for power, temperature control, air, pumps and used equipment at a Carter or customer facility. Candidates should have previous experience with UPS and parallels, diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures, and performing mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform product improvement plans on Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps.
• Work independently in the field as needed to support all PSD rental equipment.
• Use advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Communicate effectively with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organize and prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service.
• Be available for after‑hours emergency service requests for customers 24/7/365.
• Work additional hours as required and travel out of town, including abroad, to meet customers’ demands.
• Apply electronic software in the use and application of equipment.
• Maintain an excellent driving record and obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification.

• Meet physical requirements for the job, including the ability to lift, carry, and maneuver items up to 70 pounds and required vision abilities.
