The role involves power conversion, analog circuitry, and board‑mounted power systems for products operating under 10kW and 1000V.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry, primarily 3‑phase inverter design, sensor interfacing, and controller circuits.
- Draft and design at the circuit card level.
- Guide circuit card development through requirements definition, integration testing, and scheduling.
- Define schedules for circuit‑level tasks and drive schedule compliance.
- Guide ECAD drafters through layout, routing, and layer stackup definition with moderate senior engineer support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with motor types (Brushed, BLDC, PMSM) is a plus.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar tools.
- Analog electronics design experience (FETs/BJTs, op‑amps, filters, data termination, comparators).
- Lab experience using oscilloscopes, DMMs, frequency generators, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Self‑starter, quick learner, strong time‑management, and appreciation for successful team structure.
- Communication and documentation skills for small teams.
- Familiarity with wide bandgap devices (SiC, GaN).
- Experience with simulators such as SIMPLIS, SABER, Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, or Hyperlynx.
- Knowledge of military specifications.
- Design considerations for voltages >400V and/or power >10kW, three‑phase power systems, power factor control, inverter/rectifier development.
- Experience with program management tools such as Earned Value.
Security Clearance & Eligibility
U.S. citizenship required. Prior active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain interim clearance before start date is required.
Benefits
- 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).
