Editorial Designer for Print Magazine - Layout & Typography
I am currently looking for an Editorial designer (student or emerging creative) to support the development of the first issue of UNDERWALL — an independent Paris-based publication.
UNDERWALL is dedicated to emerging voices in fashion, art, and creative culture, with a strong focus on identity, image-making, and contemporary visual narratives. The debut issue is centred around the theme “Artistic Imperfection”
Role Overview
This role focuses on the layout, assembly, and visual structuring of the magazine , working from already produced content (editorials, interviews, imagery) to create a cohesive and compelling final publication.
You will work closely with the founder to translate an existing creative direction into a fully realised editorial object .
Responsibilities
- Layout and assembly of the magazine (approx. 150 pages )
- Development of typographic systems and page compositions
- Ensuring visual consistency and rhythm across the publication
- Working across InDesign / Illustrator to prepare print-ready files
- Integrating text, imagery, and editorial elements into a coherent structure
Timeline
- Project period: April 22nd – May 6th 2026
- Intensive collaboration over this period, with clear deliverables leading to print
Profile
- Student or emerging designer with a strong interest in editorial / fashion publishing
- Confident in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
- Strong sense of layout, typography, and image sensitivity
- Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently within a defined timeframe
