Editorial consultant - communication agency

Overview

HOLLIS & BEAN ( is seeking a full-time communication consultant to work in our editorial team.

Responsibilities

• Consulting: work daily with a variety of clients in different industries to understand and define their communications objectives and advise them on appropriate content strategies and deliverables.
• Content creation: plan and produce content for a range of channels and media (e.g., web, social media, video, magazines, newsletters); write and edit text in English based on source material in French or English; storyboard videos and infographics.
• Project management: liaise daily with multiple clients to ensure projects run smoothly, stay within budget, and meet client and agency expectations; coordinate and brief designers, developers and writers; manage project quotes and invoicing.

Qualifications and Skills

• Native-standard English speaker with 2-3 years’ experience in a communications agency or in-house communications function.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine enthusiasm for helping clients reach their goals; team-minded and respectful of suppliers.
• Strong writing and editing skills; ability to manage multiple deliverables and keep projects on time and on budget; ability to work autonomously.
• Exceptional attention to detail; capacity to manage a team of writers, designers and developers to achieve project aims.
• Good general knowledge with an analytical mind; enthusiasm for developing a thorough understanding of clients’ business.
• Ability to rapidly understand new ideas and create relevant, engaging content for the intended readership.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Economics/Business, Journalism, Marketing & Communications.
• Spoken and written French; all material is produced in English, but liaising with clients and suppliers in French is required.

About the Role and Industry

• The agency specializes in content for B2B companies; an appetite to learn about often complex industries is essential. Existing knowledge of finance, energy, sustainability or general business management is a bonus.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary ranges correspond to experience level and are assessed during the interview process:
• €35-38k gross salary + bonus with < 2 years’ experience
• €38-42k gross salary + bonus with 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• €45-48k gross salary + bonus with 5-8 years’ experience in a similar role
• Remuneration is re-evaluated regularly for team members within the agency based on measurable skills.
