Business Line Director, E‑commerce
The mission of the Business Line Director, E‑commerce is to lead and grow one of the company's largest revenue and profit streams: the global sales performance of the Ledger e‑commerce website across all countries.
The Mission
- Strategic Leadership: Defining and executing the global e‑commerce strategy, optimizing the user journey, and driving D2C growth for Ledger e‑commerce across international markets.
- Delivery of Revenue and Growth: Being ultimately accountable for the overall sales performance, conversion rates, and revenue generation of the Ledger e‑commerce website globally.
- Organizational Leadership: Operating with a General Manager mindset, leading the business through extensive cross‑functional collaboration and acting as the central orchestrator between marketing, performance marketing, product, tech, and data teams.
- Commercial Management: Directly managing the team that develops Ledger’s affiliate network, bridging sales‑driven business development, relationship management and content creation.
- Fierce Operational Optimization: Continuously identifying opportunities to optimize the funnel and maximize website performance, leaving no stone unturned when converting traffic into sales.
- Market Insight: Maintaining an expert, inside‑out understanding of global e‑commerce trends, localisation strategies, competition, and consumer needs to inform strategic decisions.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong quantitative and strategic commercial acumen: Advanced pricing strategy, inventory management, upsell and cross‑sell of accessories and services, international markets, shipping, tax and duties.
- Experience (at least 10 years) with General Manager (GM)–like roles: The ability to understand all facets of the business—strategy, product, go‑to‑market, and operations—make P&L‑driven decisions and drive execution to over‑achievement.
- Global E‑commerce Experience: A track record of success running a large‑scale, high‑volume global e‑commerce and Direct‑to‑Consumer (D2C) sales business.
- Delivery and Operational Excellence: Proven results in running an e‑commerce website with the highest degree of efficiency, optimising user engagement and conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
- Quantitative and Results‑Oriented: Exceptional analytical skills with a deep understanding of e‑commerce metrics, performance marketing mechanics, and user experience.
- Leadership and Influence: The proven ability to exert significant personal ascendance and influence in a highly matrixed organization to align resources and execute complex initiatives across functional teams.
- Total English fluency: Although the role may be based in Paris, English is a prerequisite for both social and work life in our office.
- AI: Pre‑existing engagement and strong appetite for all that AI can bring.
