Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of all AV equipment including sound systems, microphones, projectors, LED screens, lighting controls, and video conferencing systems.
- Ensure all AV setups are tested, functional, and aligned with event requirements prior to guest use.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AV technical issues promptly during events and operations.
- Coordinate AV setup and dismantling for meetings, banquets, and special functions.
Event & Operations Support
- Liaise with Events, Banqueting, and Front Office teams to understand AV requirements.
- Provide on-site technical support during events to ensure smooth execution.
- Ensure compliance with event specifications and guest expectations.
Preventive Maintenance
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for AV equipment.
- Maintain inventory and records of all AV assets and spare parts.
- Recommend upgrades or replacements to maintain high-quality standards.
General Engineering Duties
- Perform duty engineer responsibilities including responding to guest room issues, equipment breakdowns, and emergencies.
- Support mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems when required.
- Conduct regular inspections of plant rooms and public areas.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all AV and engineering operations comply with safety regulations and hotel standards.
- Follow proper handling procedures for electrical and technical equipment.
- Participate in emergency response procedures when required.
Team Collaboration & Training
- Train colleagues on basic AV equipment usage where necessary.
- Support the Engineering team with technical expertise related to AV systems.
- Assist in developing SOPs for AV operations and event support.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel engineering or AV operations, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of AV systems, sound engineering, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with event setups, conferencing systems, and digital presentation tools.
- Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, HVAC, etc.) is an advantage.
