Drug Reimbursement & Payer Economics Evaluator

IXO is seeking a U.S.-based payer or market-access professional for paid remote expert evaluation of commercial medicines and drug-development programs. The work applies practical reimbursement and managed-market experience to the assumptions used in those assessments.

Evaluation work

Develop and critique assessment rubrics for drugs and development programs. Help define what a defensible commercial evaluation should consider and where an analysis fails to reflect payer behavior.

Set and challenge gross-to-net assumptions by drug class. Examine how rebates, coverage decisions and formulary positioning affect the commercial picture, and whether the assumptions are credible for the relevant payer setting. Test the reasoning behind tiering and reimbursement choices rather than accepting an estimate because it appears precise.

Apply this judgment across the agreed set of medicines and drug classes. Your contribution includes evaluation criteria and clear critiques of assumptions, with explanations that make the underlying market-access reasoning understandable. The focus is the quality of the assessment and the realism of its payer economics.

Required expertise

You must be based in the United States and have at least five years of experience in market access, pricing and reimbursement, or managed markets. Hands-on knowledge of gross-to-net calculations, rebates and formulary tiering across drug classes is required.

You should also be familiar with biotechnology and pharmaceutical development programs, so that the commercial evaluation can be understood in the context of the product and its development stage. No additional degree or named professional certification is required by this listing.

Engagement terms

Compensation is $185 $210/hr USD. An initial 10–20 hours across 1–2 weeks is an indicative planning estimate. IXO will agree the actual scope, schedule and expected outputs before work starts. Further assignments, if any, are agreed separately.
