Drilling Marine Superintendent
The Drilling Marine Superintendent is a senior member of the Maintenance Technical Support team at Dixstone, providing centralised marine and rig-move expertise to the operational fleet. This role partners with rig-based barge teams, drilling supervisors, flag and class authorities, and marine warranty surveyors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient marine operations across all Dixstone assets.
Dixstone operates a fleet of jackups, platform and land drilling rigs across West and Central Africa. The Drilling Marine Superintendent owns rig-move planning and execution, marine integrity, regulatory compliance, and stability operations — and serves as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO) interface for the fleet. This position offers the opportunity to lead the marine governance of the entire fleet from HQ.
Responsibilities
· Plan and supervise rig moves across the fleet, coordinate with operations, logistics, marine warranty surveyors, and tug providers
· Ensure compliance with flag state, classification society (INSB, ABS, DNV, BV, LR), and ISM/ISPS requirements for all assets
· Serve as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO) interface for fleet marine operations
· Lead marine incident investigations; coordinate with operations and HSE teams to drive corrective actions and lessons learned
· Audit ballast control, stability calculations, watertight integrity, and load-capacity compliance fleet-wide
· Draft, maintain and update marine operations procedures, rig-move manuals, weather criteria, and emergency response plans
· Manage marine warranty surveys, class renewals, statutory inspections, and certification renewals
· Provide remote and on-site marine support; deploy to rigs for rig moves, mobilisations, demobilisations, and critical incidents
· Generate marine KPIs and compliance reports; benchmark fleet performance and recommend marine-integrity improvements
