Doors Support Unit Engineer

The position may be based in Brussels, Belgium, or in the Ile-de-France or eastern regions of France.
Collaboration with KDB Frontlines
- Responsible for finding the optimal door solution, from own KDB Product Portfolio or third-party solutions, to meet the customer’s needs for standard or non-standard cases
- Selects the correct product platform on which to make the offer
- Ensures clarity on the solution’s scope, including KONE and possible third-party offerings
- Communication with KDB Frontlines (e‑mail/Teams/phone)
Product planning
- Creates product specifications for door equipment and local materials
- Using door configuration tools from KDB, partners and suppliers
- Responsible for correct product costings in non-standard cases, both for corporate and local materials
- Accountable for detailed, custom product plans for non-standard cases
- Coordinates product lead times from KDB Partner production facilities and local sourcing
- Ensures that the proposed product fulfils local codes, regulations and safety requirements
- Ensures alignment with environmental regulations
Tendering process
- Technical Sales Support for Sales
- Create tender pricing, tender layouts and documentation, where possible using the door configuration tools from KDB, partners and suppliers
Delivery process
- Accountable for creation of layouts for drawing approval and production
- Create Purchase Orders in SAP system for ordering New Door Solutions from production partners and additional materials from Global Spares Supply (GSS) and local suppliers.
- Support for PR/PO creation for all other suppliers
- Proposes change order (variations and addworks) sales opportunities to Sales
- Keeps an overview of relevant engineering milestones
- Completing the documentation binder
General responsibilities
- Participates in product and new release information‑sharing sessions
- Offers input to the product offering management about customisation, standardisation and interface requirements for the portfolio
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience in the construction or elevator industry is preferred.
Strong technical knowledge and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Mastery of French and English is essential; proficiency in Dutch is a strong asset but not mandatory.
