Documentation Specialist / Controller
As a documentation specialist/controller on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project for a CSR power station, you will need to be proficient in managing large volumes of technical data, whilst understanding the specific characteristics of this energy project.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Project Document Management (Document Control)
- Proficiency in E‑GID, Websis, SharePoint and similar electronic document management systems.
- Ability to extract and classify data within these document databases.
- Rigorous management of workflows for review, coding, approval and issuance across 'As‑Planned', 'For Construction', and 'As‑Built' statuses.
- Creation and maintenance of the Master Document Register and Supplier Document Register based on available documentation.
- Traceability and audit—maintaining a reliable history of changes to prevent obsolete drawings from being used.
- Technical Knowledge for Biomass/CSR EPC Projects
- Understanding of EPC culture: prioritising documents through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Familiarity with technical vocabulary related to fuel handling, boiler, steam turbine, flue gas treatment, fire protection systems, etc.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance dossiers, DOE operating manuals, and completion of works dossiers.
- Experience compiling manufacturer documentation for machinery, electrical, ATEX, PED, environmental certifications, safety standards for pressure equipment (DESP).
- Interpersonal and Organisational Skills
- Rigor and attention to detail—immediate detection of coding errors or missing validation signatures.
- Diplomacy and firmness—effectively follow up with engineers, subcontractors, and end clients to meet review deadlines (generally 10‑14 days).
- Stress management—handle high volumes of document transfers during critical phases, ensuring documentation readiness within four weeks.
- Analytical skills, teamwork, and adaptability.
- Language and IT Skills
- English—good level required for communication with suppliers such as ACB or Doosan.
- Advanced office software proficiency, especially Excel (pivot tables, text cleaning) to extract data from multiple files and generate KPI reports for senior management.
Assignment Details
Minimum two‑month, full‑time assignment, to start ASAP. Must have rapid access to Solvay IT tools (email, Drive, SharePoint, E‑GID, Websis, etc.).
