D position is available within the Brain Imaging group at the Center for Magnetic Resonance in Biology and Medicine (CRMBM) in Marseille, France. The project focuses on methodological developments for quantitative sodium (23Na) MRI at 7 T, with applications to the human brain. The doctoral researcher will have access to a whole-body Siemens MAGNETOM Terra 7 T MRI system.
Key activities :- Develop and optimize 23Na MRI acquisition protocols and, where appropriate, pulse sequences.
- Develop reconstruction and signal-processing methods, including denoising, relaxometry,
- Implement and validate B0 field correction, B1 mapping and receive-sensitivity correction.
- Characterize RF coils and validate the methods in phantoms and in vivo human brain studies.
- Present and publish the results at international level.
- A Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Signal
- A solid background in MRI physics, signal processing, image analysis or quantitative imaging.
- English is the working language; French is not required.
- Experience with high-field MRI, X-nuclei imaging or quantitative MRI.
- Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB.
- Good experimental, analytical and communication skills in English.
Experience in sodium MRI, RF coils, relaxometry, B0/B1 correction, ultra-high-field MRI, human imaging or Siemens IDEA programming would be an asset but is not required
