About the Role

Crusoe is seeking a strategic and self-directed Director, Workforce Housing & Data Center Workplace Operations to lead the development and execution of workforce housing strategy and workplace operations across remote and non-remote data center sites. As Crusoe scales its data center footprint, this role designs short- and long-term housing solutions, defines sustainable communities in remote environments, and ensures a consistent, safe, and high-quality workplace experience across all data center locations.

This position partners with Workplace, People, and Finance leadership, owning the end-to-end strategy and execution of workforce housing and data center workplace programs. Success requires operating in ambiguity, balancing speed with long-term planning, and building scalable models applicable across site types.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Partner with the Global Director of Workplace to define and execute Crusoe’s workforce housing strategy for remote and non-remote data center locations, including short-term, transitional, and long-term housing solutions where applicable.
  • Lead the planning, development, and rollout of workforce housing programs, evaluating options such as leasing, partnerships, and build-to-suit solutions while balancing cost, speed, risk, and employee experience.
  • Define clear principles for what “community” means in remote environments, including amenities, shared spaces, services, safety considerations, and overall employee experience.
  • Own the Workplace operating model for all data center sites, ensuring consistency, safety, and operational rigor while adapting to site-specific needs.
  • Manage and develop a team of Workplace Site Managers responsible for day-to-day workplace operations at data center locations.
  • Lead workplace readiness for new data center openings and expansions, including service activation, vendor onboarding, and coordination with IT, Security, and Operations.
  • Partner closely with Data Center Operations, Safety, People, Legal, and Finance to ensure housing and workplace solutions are compliant, financially sound, and aligned with workforce needs.
  • Own and manage the Workforce Housing and Data Center Workplace Operations P&L, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls across housing programs and data center sites. Collaborate with Finance, Workplace, and Data Center leadership to ensure spend aligns with growth plans, operational requirements, and risk management.
  • Identify, onboard, and manage external partners (e.g., housing providers, developers, property managers, service vendors), setting clear expectations and accountability.
  • Establish governance, decision frameworks, and escalation paths to manage risk, scope, and delivery across housing and workplace initiatives.
  • Run retrospectives following launches and major changes to continuously improve programs and operations.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • 8–12+ years of experience in workplace operations, real estate, workforce housing, facilities, or operations roles within high-growth, industrial, or distributed environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing site-based or distributed teams, ideally across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience developing and managing housing, facilities, or site-based programs that require balancing cost, speed, safety, and employee experience.
  • Experience working in or supporting a data center environment is a plus.
  • Strong judgment and comfort operating in ambiguity, with the ability to build structure where none exists.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to align operational teams, external partners, and senior leadership.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to data center sites.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
