Overview
Reporting to the President, the Director of Sales Engineering is responsible for pre‑ and post‑sales technical engagement with customers, including product and technical presentations, network design assistance, professional services, and second‑level technical support. The role also involves demonstrating Positron product capabilities and assisting with lab and field trials (demos, evaluation, and training). The Director will assign accounts to each Sales Engineer and will handle some critical accounts directly.
The Director should have a strong technical background and knowledge of IP networks, network design, computer hardware and software, CATV/IPTV solutions used for hospitality and business applications, and Wi‑Fi solutions.

We have successfully launched a world‑leading Gigabit Ethernet solution over copper and coax legacy cabling for older/brownfield hotels, residential, office, and commercial buildings. Our customers include hotel owners and operators, telcos, Internet Service Providers, and cable MSOs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the sales engineering and professional services team delivering large‑scale IPTV and high‑speed Internet solutions in hotels, resorts, and MDUs.
- Design and validate network architectures over existing coaxial or telephone infrastructure with QAM coexistence and advanced coax riser topologies.
- Design the Ethernet network, including VLAN segmentation, IGMP snooping/proxy, and overall performance and quality‑of‑service requirements.
- Collaborate directly with major customers (large MSOs and local MSPs) and global hotel chains on network and system designs and field deployment strategy.
- Manage problem escalations to the Positron Access Solutions R&D team, contribute to firmware roadmaps, and handle field validation of new features.
- Certify and manage site installation contractors, providing education and troubleshooting of the Layer 1 medium (COAX and twisted pair).
- Capture, articulate, and prioritize customer requirements.
- Prepare and deliver technical training to Positron Access Solutions customers and prospects; conduct trade‑show presentations as a subject‑matter expert in hospitality networking.
- Report to superiors at Positron Access Solutions to discuss sales strategies and improvement thereof.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in information technology or equivalent.
- Strong leadership in building and mentoring pre‑sales and professional services teams.
- A minimum of 7 years of direct experience in hospitality technology and telecom hardware solutions.
- Proven track record designing and deploying G.hn over coax and telephone pairs at scale.
- Hands‑on expertise with the GAM series appliances, endpoints and Virtuoso EMS or comparable third‑party products.
- Deep knowledge of multicast IPTV platforms (e.g., Marriott GRE, IHG Studio) used for hospitality customers and their integration challenges.
- Extensive relationships with global hotel brands and Managed Service Providers, with demonstrated ability to influence strategic technology adoption.
- Manage relationships with site installation contractors in the USA and Canada to provide installation services for the Positron solution.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Working knowledge of French.
- Strong technical account management, customer service and project management skills.
- Working knowledge of Ethernet, VLAN/QoS, TCP/IP, DOCSIS, xDSL; knowledge of G.hn, MoCA and XGS‑PON is highly desirable.
