Director QSE SQM
Reports to: Senior Director QSE Operations
Role Purpose
Responsible for end‑to‑end definition and execution of QSE programs to ensure operational robustness and compliance with European food safety, quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, and social responsibility regulations for ingredients and primary packaging suppliers in Europe.
What you will do
- Define and steward the technical Quality and Food Safety (QFS) strategy, policies, and initiatives to align with the global and OU QFS agenda.
- Contribute to the global QSE innovation pipeline and lead supplier authorization processes.
- Communicate and obtain supplier commitments to guiding principles.
- Define and prioritise sustainability initiatives in line with global and OU priorities.
- Establish and maintain execution discipline for QSE programs across suppliers and European markets.
- Work with bottling partners, CEPG and cross‑functional teams to ensure system capabilities meet standards.
- Orchestrate OU QSE network at suppliers and manage knowledge‑sharing routines.
- Develop and scale OU capabilities for new product categories and packaging formats.
- Safeguard reputation by managing compliance for core Food Safety, Human Rights, EHS at suppliers.
- Monitor and analyse performance data to promote a Zero Defect mentality and continuous improvement.
- Oversee integration of food safety and quality standards across the value chain.
- Own resolution of QFS incidents and support RCA, CAP.
Franchise & System Capability Development
- Partner with bottling partners and teams to validate system capabilities.
- Oversee assessment and development of OU capabilities for product categories.
Compliance & Governance
- Safeguard reputation with compliance for Food Safety, Human Rights, EHS.
- Analyse QSE and SGP data to drive Zero Defect, continuous improvement.
Qualification & Experience
- +5 years in Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety in Food & Beverage industry.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams such as R&D, CPS, SRA, SC.
- Hands‑on project leadership experience.
- Experience in manufacturing processes.
- Ability to manage complexity within a defined project scope.
- Strong operational problem‑solving skills.
- Adaptable, resilient, growth mindset and continuous learning.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams.
- Cross‑functional communication skills.
- Senior leadership experience in supplier development and scale transformation is a plus.
- French language skills are an advantage but not essential.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business administration or related field required.
- Advanced degree preferred; demonstrated leadership and relevant experience will be strongly valued.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 33% travel for business, up to 50% travel in certain roles.
