Director of Learning and Development

A global industrial group operating in over 50 countries, with 30,000+ employees and €6 billion in annual revenue, is seeking an experienced Group Learning & Development Director to build and lead the global L&D function for a newly divested business unit.

Reporting directly to the CHRO, this is a unique greenfield opportunity to design the global learning strategy from the ground up. You will establish a Learning Academy that supports business transformation, developing technical, engineering, leadership and digital capabilities across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the global Learning & Development strategy.
• Design and launch a global Learning Academy supporting 30,000 employees across 60 manufacturing sites.
• Create learning programmes covering technical manufacturing skills, engineering, leadership and digital upskilling.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering and Corporate Functions to align learning with business priorities.
• Define the learning methodology, governance, budget and delivery model across classroom, digital and online learning.
• Lead a small central team while influencing global stakeholders across the business.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience building or transforming a Learning Academy within a global industrial or manufacturing organisation.
• Strong track record supporting business transformation through capability development.
• Credibility partnering with Operations and Engineering leaders.
• Experience designing technical, leadership and digital learning programmes.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to build and implement an L&D function from a blank canvas.
