Lens International is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – Luxury & Lifestyle Brands to develop new business opportunities with leading French and European luxury, beauty, fashion, lifestyle and premium consumer brands.
The successful candidate will act as the key commercial interface between European customers and Lens Technology’s global engineering and manufacturing organization. The primary objective is to introduce and promote Lens Technology’s capabilities in precision components, functional and decorative modules, advanced materials, smart hardware modules, assembly and ODM/JDM solutions, and convert customer concepts into qualified development and mass-production opportunities.
This role requires a strong combination of luxury‑industry network, business development capability and practical understanding of hardware and product development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Luxury Brand Business Development
- Develop and manage relationships with leading luxury and premium brands in France and Europe.
- Identify new opportunities within luxury beauty, fragrance, fashion accessories, jewelry, watches, smart accessories and premium lifestyle products.
- Build relationships across customer organizations, including Innovation, Product Development, Packaging Development, Engineering, Industrialization, Procurement / Purchasing, Supply Chain, Design and R&D teams.
- Develop account maps and identify key decision makers, technical influencers and purchasing stakeholders.
- Build and continuously manage a sustainable pipeline of new customer projects.
2. Promote Lens Technology Capabilities
Introduce Lens Technology’s capabilities according to customer needs, including:
- Precision glass and advanced glass processing
- Metal structural components and precision machining
- Ceramic and sapphire components
- Plastic and composite components
- Surface treatment and decorative finishing
- Precision assembly and functional / decorative modules
- Display, touch and optical‑related modules
- Smart hardware modules and wearable / connected‑device solutions
- Product engineering, JDM and ODM services
- Tooling, automation and high‑volume global manufacturing capabilities
Translate Lens Technology’s consumer‑electronics manufacturing expertise into solutions suitable for the luxury industry, where premium appearance, tactile experience, craftsmanship, material innovation, quality consistency and manufacturability are equally important.
3. Customer Project Development
- Understand customer product concepts, design intentions, user experience requirements and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with Lens engineering, R&D, manufacturing and program‑management teams to develop technical proposals.
- Support customer RFIs, RFQs, concept evaluations and supplier qualification activities.
- Coordinate prototype development, sample delivery, technical workshops and design‑for‑manufacturing reviews.
- Support customer factory visits, technical reviews and executive meetings.
- Follow opportunities from early concept through design development, prototype, validation, industrialization, RFQ, supplier nomination and mass production.
- Monitor trends in luxury hardware, smart accessories, beauty devices, premium packaging and connected products.
- Identify opportunities where traditional luxury craftsmanship can be combined with advanced materials, modules and manufacturing technologies.
- Provide regular intelligence on new product programs, customer organization changes, competitors, technology trends, supplier landscape and upcoming RFQs / sourcing activities.
- Recommend strategic accounts and technology investment priorities to Lens management.
5. Strategic Customer Management
- Establish Lens Technology as a long‑term technology and manufacturing partner rather than only a component supplier.
- Develop senior‑level relationships with strategic customers.
- Organize technology days, innovation workshops and executive meetings with European customers.
- Connect European customer teams with Lens R&D and manufacturing resources in China and other global locations.
- Support commercial negotiations, strategic account planning and long‑term partnership development.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree or above.
- 5–10+ years of business development, sales, sourcing, product development or account‑management experience.
- Native‑level or professional fluency in French & English
- Based in France, preferably Paris or the Paris region.
- Proven experience working with French or European premium / luxury brands.
- Strong relationship‑building and new‑account development capability.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both commercial and technical organizations.
- Comfortable working with international engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Able to travel regularly within France and Europe, and occasionally to Asia.
