Director, Employee & Labor Relations & Governance, Europe

The Director, Employee & Labor Relations and Governance, Europe will build and lead Wella’s European Center of Competence (CoC) for Labor & Employee Relations. The role serves as the senior expert and strategic partner for labor relations across Europe, driving governance, methodology, and execution of complex, cross-border, and high-impact topics.

The position ensures consistent and compliant implementation of European labor frameworks, oversees complex workplace investigations, and leads engagement with employee representative bodies at Group and European levels.

The role reports to the Global Head of Labor & Employee Relations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead Wella’s European Labor Relations Center of Competence and define governance, frameworks, and methodology across the region
• Drive implementation of EU labor and social regulation and ensure consistent application across countries
• Advise and support local People Teams and Business Leaders on employee representation, unions, and social dialogue across Europe
• Ensure effective engagement with employee representatives in major business changes
• Own and lead complex, or high-risk employee relations matters and investigations
• Define standards and ensure compliance with global policies and local regulations
• Act as strategic advisor on supra-local co-determination topics and overarching labor relations matters in Germany
• Provide guidance on complex and precedent-setting labor relations matters in alignment with European strategy

WHAT YOU BRING

• University degree in Law (Europe) with strong expertise in labor and employment law
• Deep knowledge of labor relations frameworks in Germany, France, and the Netherlands, with additional European exposure in Scandinavia. Significant experience advising on German co-determination across several legal entities
• Proven track record advising on complex labor relations issues in multinational, matrixed environments
• Experience supporting cross-border organizational change, restructuring, and transformation initiatives
• Experience leading workplace investigations under GDPR-compliant frameworks
• Proven ability to operate at senior stakeholder level in international xzewmjt organizations
• Fluency in German, English, and French
• Willingness to travel within Europe as required (anticipated up to 40%)
