Job Description Summary

PCS is a leading provider of electrical systems and services for power conversion and storage applications, operating across industrial and utility segments. Within PCS, the South Europe–Middle East–Africa (SEMEA) region is fast‑growing, with 1,200 employees spanning the full value chain— from rotating machines and power electronics to integrated system solutions—serving customers for new equipment and services. It is also a global center of expertise and innovation for multiple applications.

About the Role

As Supply Chain Leader reporting to the region General Manager, you will join the regional senior leadership team as the accountable leader for end‑to‑end supply chain performance across all four functional pillars: strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, and customs & trade compliance. You will shape supply chain strategy for a complex, multi-tier bill of materials environment while ensuring Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost (SQDC) in that order. You will lead an organization of about 60 employees and multiple external service providers, driving continuous improvement, transformation and people development to win with customers and execute as per SQDC principles.

Main Missions

1. Strategic Sourcing

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategic priorities aligned with business objectives and worldwide regulations.
  • Develop supplier panel for key commodities and lead supplier development programs.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality to qualify critical components, optimize specifications and introduce new production (NPI).
  • Partner with Factories on make‑vs‑buy decisions.
  • Provide sourcing support to develop optimized competitive offerings in partnership with commercial teams; negotiate with suppliers in both commercial (ITO) and execution (OTR) phases.
  • Partner with Global Commodity Managers to implement Group global direct & indirect commodity strategies.
  • Develop forecasting capabilities from commercial inputs to support procurement with demand data for S&OP.
  • Engage strategic suppliers through contracting, QBR management and supplier Lean events, fostering partnership.
  • Adjust organization and skills in line with business priorities.

2. Procurement

  • Own the procurement process and ensure flawless execution of customer contracts following SQDC principles.
  • Ensure timely placement of orders according to project delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure adequate expediting and quality inspection programs to secure quality and delivery.
  • Coordinate supplier qualification, onboarding and inspections with Supplier Quality Management.
  • Drive spend governance, purchasing policy compliance, and ERP‑enabled P2P processes across the region.
  • Implement demand‑driven S&OP processes to improve forecast accuracy and manage inventory health across long lead‑time components.
  • Adjust organization and skills in line with business priorities.

3. Logistics & Customs

  • Oversee inbound freight and outbound delivery operations for equipment projects and customer site interventions.
  • Manage 3PL and freight‑forwarding partnerships.
  • Ensure full compliance with regional and international import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade sanctions; lead HS code classification.
  • Monitor and respond to regulatory changes affecting the business.
  • Build an Internal Compliance Program (ICP) for the region, leveraging global programs.
  • Adjust organization and skills in line with business priorities.

Leadership & Cross‑Functional Accountability

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high‑performing supply chain organization across multiple sub‑functions and sites.
  • Act as a core member of the regional leadership team; contribute to annual operating plan, 3‑year strategy, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Partner with Commercial and Sales teams to optimize solutions for cost and lead‑time based on customer requirements.
  • Partner with Projects, Services and Operations/Manufacturing for SQDC execution.
  • Drive supply chain digitalization—ERP optimization, supplier portals, demand forecasting tools, and real‑time logistics visibility.
  • Report supply chain KPIs to the Business and Regional GM; manage cost reduction initiatives, savings, project material cost reduction, COTD/SOTD, COPQ, sustainability, single‑source reduction, base rationalization, contracting, DTP, process adherence, NCR and claim recovery.
  • Develop and implement action plans to achieve KPI targets using lean/PSR methodology.
  • Develop individual and team performance sustainably.

What we are looking for

  • Experience as a Supply Chain Leader with 10–15 years in a similar role, preferably in project business.
  • University or equivalent degree in engineering, economics, business management or related field.
  • Proactive, process‑oriented with continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strategic thinker capable of building a 3‑year roadmap and resolving critical single‑source shortages.
  • Credible executive‑level presence to influence GM, CFO, engineering directors, supplier GMs and work in a matrix environment.
  • Data‑driven decision maker with bias for speed and clear prioritization.
  • Resilient operator thriving in project‑driven, technically complex environments.
  • Builder of high‑performing, inclusive teams with strong development and succession track record.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and supply chain planning tools.
