The Role
We are seeking a Director of Administration & Finance (DAF) to lead the financial and administrative functions of our Paris operations. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will be the guardian of the company's financial health and a trusted strategic partner to the business. You will own budgeting, reporting, compliance and cash management while overseeing day-to-day administration, ensuring that our creative and manufacturing ambitions rest on rigorous, well-controlled foundations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Planning
- Build and manage the annual budget and rolling forecasts, working with department heads to align spending with business objectives.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital and treasury on a daily and weekly basis; anticipate financing needs and manage banking relationships and credit lines.
- Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, along with clear dashboards and KPIs for the executive team.
- Analyse variances between budget and actuals, explain the drivers, and recommend corrective actions.
Accounting & Reporting
- Supervise and develop the accounting team, ensuring accurate day-to-day bookkeeping (accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger).
- Own the month-end and year-end closing process, guaranteeing timely and accurate results in line with French GAAP (Plan Comptable Général).
- Manage costing and margin analysis for bespoke packaging projects, supporting accurate quoting and profitability tracking.
- Coordinate reporting to the group and support consolidation with international entities where required.
- Support group and holding structure by managing intercompany transactions, reconciliations and transfer-pricing documentation in coordination with group finance and external advisors.
Administration & Operations
- Oversee general administrative operations for the Paris office, including contracts, supplier agreements, insurance policies and facilities.
- Partner with HR on payroll preparation, social declarations and employee administration; liaise with external legal and IT providers.
- Implement and maintain efficient administrative processes, tools and record-keeping across the office.
Compliance, Tax & Risk
- Ensure full compliance with French tax obligations (VAT/TVA, corporate tax, social charges) and manage timely filings.
- Coordinate statutory audits and act as the main liaison with the statutory auditor (commissaire aux comptes) and tax authorities.
- Design and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud and mitigate financial risk.
- Identify when specialist tax advice is needed and manage external tax advisors and lawyers — briefing them, coordinating their work, and implementing their recommendations.
Strategic & Business Partnering
- Advise the CEO and leadership team on financial performance, investment decisions, pricing strategy and profitability.
- Provide financial modelling and business cases for new projects, capital expenditure and potential expansion.
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable insight that supports commercial and operational decision-making.
- Provide the financial analysis and modelling that support group structuring, entity and investment decisions.
Team, Systems & Improvement
- Lead, mentor and grow a small finance and administration team, setting objectives and supporting professional development.
- Champion the use of ERP and digital finance tools, driving automation, accuracy and continuous process improvement.
- Contribute to the group's sustainability and CSR agenda by embedding responsible financial and procurement practices.
Profile & Requirements
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management or Business (e.g. DSCG, Master CCA, or business-school equivalent).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and administration, including a first management or DAF-level role, ideally in manufacturing, industrial or luxury-goods environments.
- Strong command of French accounting, tax and social/legal frameworks; knowledge of international/consolidated reporting is a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP and financial systems, and advanced Excel; comfort with data-driven decision-making.
- Fluent English and French (written and spoken) — essential in our international environment.
- Rigorous, hands‑on and discreet, with excellent analytical skills and the leadership to develop a small team.
- Experience coordinating external tax and legal advisors; exposure to group/holding structures, intercompany flows or international entities is a strong plus.
