Directeur Achats (H/F)
The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading and executing strategic sourcing initiatives across global categories, with a focus on Information Technology including Data Communications, Network, and Telecommunications. This role drives supplier strategy, cost optimization, and operational excellence while managing high-value vendor relationships and complex commercial agreements.
The Director serves as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, providing strategic guidance on supplier markets, cost trends, and contract structures. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring alignment between procurement strategies and organizational objectives.
This leadership role is responsible for:Driving global sourcing strategy and execution
Managing high-value vendor relationships and complex contracts
Leading a procurement team and operational functions
Delivering cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk management
Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership across business units
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership
Develop and execute global sourcing strategies across assigned spend categories, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives
Lead complex, high-value sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations to secure optimal pricing, terms, and value
Identify and implement innovative procurement strategies to drive competitive advantage and long-term savings
Supplier & Contract Management
Manage strategic supplier relationships, including selection, negotiation, performance management, and compliance
Conduct quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to ensure performance, innovation, and value realization
Drive supplier risk management and ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements
Financial & Cost Management
Deliver measurable cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and demand management
Perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and market assessments to support data-driven decision-making
Leverage enterprise-wide spending and supplier relationships to maximize value
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with senior leaders across IT, Finance, Legal, and business units to align sourcing strategies with business priorities
Act as a strategic advisor on commercial matters, supplier markets, and contract structures
Support integration of acquisitions into global procurement processes and standards
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Promote the use of e-sourcing and automation to reduce cycle times and improve transparency
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor sourcing effectiveness and supplier performance
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sourcing team
Oversee onboarding, training, and performance management of team members
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Embody an intercultural management approach
Governance & Risk Management
Ensure procurement policies, controls, and governance frameworks are effectively implemented
Manage contractual and supplier risks, proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues
Maintain compliance with internal standards and external regulations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or contract management3+ years of experience leading teams and managing people
Strong experience in IT including Telecommunications, Network, and Data Communications sourcing
Demonstrated success in negotiating complex, high-value agreements
Excellent managerial and training skills
Talent in negotiations and networking
Aptitude in decision-making and working with analytics
Strong leadership capabilities
Procurement certification from nationally recognized organization
Excellent communication skills
