DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHER
POSITION SUMMARY: To co-ordinate, perform and document all activities involved in the Ultrasound Service. Exercises professional judgment in performance of duties and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Current sign-on incentive of up to $5,000, subject to terms. Must be an active member, in good standing, with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario licensed to practice Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Must possess the ability to perform scanning responsibilities, which require the precise attainment of images within strict limits, tolerance and standards, and to make independent decision to ensure optimal patient care and efficient operation of the department.
Must possess the verbal ability to communicate orally with patients, physicians and other medical personnel in order to provide and receive information or instruction and to write clear, concise and accurate technical impressions.
Must possess the numerical ability to make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately for a particular treatment plan.
Must possess excellent ocular/motor skills to provide optimal Ultrasound Images.
Must possess the perception to review images and completing Technologist impression sheets for Quality Assurance Purposes.
Must have the physical capacity to perform medium work, requiring lifting and positioning of equipment and patients and the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
Employment History which demonstrates regular attendance at work.
Meditech / PACS experience would be an asset.
